Wounds Week webinar centred on wound pain and its management

As part of Wounds Week, a key webinar highlighting the importance of positive pain management for patients struggling with painful and hard-to-heal wounds is scheduled.

The free event takes place on Thursday 7th July, between 6.30pm and 7pm BST, and will be led by Dr Amelia Swift, reader in Health Professional Education at the University of Birmingham, who will look at the ‘pain pathway’ and how a variety of management approaches, including electrical stimulation wound therapy, can be used to reduce wound pain

Good pain management improves the patient experience, enhances compliance and contributes to wound healing – all of which are proven key outcomes of Accel-Heal electrical stimulation wound therapy.

The session will follow Mark Portou, of the Royal Free London NHS Trust, leading a webinar on managing complicated vascular wounds.

Wounds Week is organised by the University of Huddersfield and the Journal of Wound Care, and provides an opportunity for the wound care community to come together, share ideas and engage in key education free of charge. All the sessions are CPD-certified and are available on demand.
